Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

● Follows laboratory’s procedures and adheres to Quality Assurance procedures.

● Reviews genetics reports.

● Reviews probe design for PGT cases.

● Reviews NGS and Sanger data.

● Reviews patient results before requesting Laboratory Director signature.

● Communicates with patients and clinicians for pre-post counseling.

● Manages PGT-M cases.

● Identifies and documents problems that may adversely affect test performance and notifies the Laboratory Director.

● Documents all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory’s established performance specifications.

● Identifies opportunities for workflow improvement and support implementation.

● Documents and reviews laboratory quality procedures as process expert.

● Ensures all work is performed in accordance with local, state, federal regulations.

● Participates in all regulatory inspections.

● Assists, trains new employees, and implements department standard operation procedures.


Education and Experience

● Must possess an active, valid Genetic Counselor License issued by the State of California.

● Master’s degree in genetic counseling,

● 1 year of experience in CLIA lab is preferred.

● Strong listening, communication, and problem-solving skills.

● Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks to meet varying deadlines.

● Ability to work in a team with other departments.

● Able to communicate professionally and clearly, both verbally and in writing.

● Excellent customer service and the ability to maintain a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward patients and clients.

Physical Requirements:

● Repetitive movement of hands, arms, legs and fingers (typing and/or writing).

● Exposure to general office environment conditions.

● Sitting, with occasional walking, standing, stooping and moving about.

● Occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $100,000.00 per year
